MaryBeth is a proud "Double Dawg," earning her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, cum laude, and her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the esteemed University of Georgia.

MaryBeth serves as Chair for the Consumer Privacy/Data Breach Litigation Group for the American Association for Justice and serves as Co-Chair of the Georgia State Bar e-Discovery and Use of Technology Section. MaryBeth was selected to The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 Drafting Team on Privilege Logs and on Electronic Document Retention and is an active participant of Working Group 11 on Data Security and Privacy serving on the Brainstorming Group for Data Security and Privacy in Healthcare and Brainstorming Group Exploring Greater Efficiencies in Data Breach and Privacy Class Action Litigation. Marybeth is a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, Inc. (“GAWL") and is a proponent of other women who work. MaryBeth is also a member of The State Bar of Georgia, The American Bar Association, The Atlanta Bar Association, and The Sandy Springs Bar Association.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
MaryBeth is a leader in the data privacy field. Judges from many jurisdictions around the country have appointed MaryBeth to leadership positions in a number of class action cases in the area of data privacy. She serves as Co-Lead Counsel in Kolstedt v. TMX Finance Corporate Services, Inc., et. al. (S.D. Ga.); Miller v. NextGen Healthcare, Inc. (N.D. Ga.); Baker, et al. v. ParkMobile, LLC (N.D. Ga.); In Re: Overby-Seawell Company Customer Data Security Breach Litigation (N.D. Ga); and Kleeberg, et.al. v. St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System, Inc. (State Court of Ga, Chatham County). In addition, she has received appointments to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in In Re: TikTok Inc. Consumer Privacy Litigation, In-App Browser Cases (N.D. Ill.); In Re: BPS Direct, LLC, And Cabela’s, LLC, Wiretapping (E.D. Pa.); In Re: Marriott International Customer Data Security Breach Litig. (D. Md.); In Re: Equifax, Inc., Data Security Breach Litigation (N.D. Ga.); and In Re: Home Depot Customer Data Security Breach Litig. (N.D. Ga.). MaryBeth also serves as class counsel in Tanner v. Acushnet Company and Acushnet Holdings, Corp. (C.D. Ca.) and Matousek v. Noom, Inc. (C.D. Ca.).
MaryBeth has experience representing class members in mass tort cases involving defective drugs (In Re: Vioxx Products Liability Litigation) and medical devices (In Re: DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., Pinnacle Hip Implant Products Liability Litig. serving on the Science Committee).
MaryBeth presently serves as class counsel in cases involving antitrust litigation representing hotel owners/franchisees in business disputes.
MaryBeth has a proven track record for resolving cases. Of note, she participated in reaching favorable resolutions for Financial Institutions in In Re: Home Depot Customer Data Security Breach Litig. and In Re: Equifax, Inc., Data Security Breach Litigation and on behalf of consumers in Sherwood v. Horizon Actuarial Services, LLC.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Outside of her legal practice, MaryBeth is actively involved in her community, volunteering at Solidarity, the neighborhood food pantry, and she is an active member of her Church. MaryBeth enjoys tennis, golf, yoga, skiing, gardening, wine tasting and live music. She is married to an Atlanta native. Together they have three children, who scattered to live in Denver, NYC and Atlanta.

MaryBeth is also a member of the Pine Tree Garden Club where she and other members serve the community with beautification projects at The Ronald McDonald House and Blue Heron Nature Preserve and assist patients at A.G. Rhodes with planting pots.
